Antique Knights Of Pthyas Ceremonial Sabre in Original Scabbard by Pettibone Mfg
Ceremonial Knights of Pythias saber in original presented scabbard. The maker, "The Pettibone Mfg. Co. Cincinatti OH", is inscribed on the hilt of the blade in a uniform gold tone etching process. This saber was passed down as a family heirloom from 3 generations to the consignor, awarded to the original inscribed relative "..." by the Knights as a full Knights Sword, as noted by the lion crested helm on pommel and blade etch. Knights of Pythias is the first fraternal order to be officially recognized by the United States government and is steeped in military traditions. Estimated production date end of 19th Century.
Overall is 38". Very good condition.
